45407 passes Halifax with 5Z74 09.28 Castleton to Bradford. It was heading to pick up the "Bradford Residential" and this was the first of it's four transits through Halifax that day. 28/1/06.

It's not often that steam passes through Halifax, so rather than go to Bradford and watch it make the volcanic climb, I thought I'd stay in my home town to phot 45407. It still makes a fine sight as it emerges from Beacon Hill Tunnel with the "Bradford Residential" on the 28th January 2006.

30777 "Sir Lamiel" puts out a superb bit of clag as it races through Sherburn-in-Elmet with "The Ebor Express" - 1Z37 07.09 Tyseley to York, on the 8th July 2006. This was it's first run in the north of England after it's recent overhaul and if it keeps on putting up performances like this, I shall be at the lineside everytime it's within striking distance!

48151 leaves Church Fenton after a pathing stop on the 8th July 2006.

The fireman on 48151's excursion from Doncaster to Scarborough on the 8th July 2006 was John Hunt, the well-known railway photographer, now turned West Coast Railways footplate crew member. Looks a bit pensive doesn't he?

30777 "Sir Lamiel" passes Coniston Cold with "The Dalesman" from York to Carlisle, on the 6th August 2006.

30777 "Sir Lamiel" emerges from Blea Moor Tunnel with "The Dalesman" of 6th August 2006. This was it's first run over the S & C since it's latest overhaul and as one might expect, warm but cloudy weather conspired to make a less than memorable picture.

60009 "Union of South Africa" races past Colton Junction with 1Z39 06.25 Kings Cross to York on the 2nd December 2006.

4771 "Green Arrow" comes to a halt at York with "The Scarborough Flyer" - 1Z44 ex Kings Cross, on the 12th August 2006. The train was scheduled to be hauled from London by "Duke of Gloucester" but a lack of rain in the South put paid to that idea. Instead "Green Arrow" did the honours from Doncaster and is on it's home ground under York Station's magnificent roof. I could do without the GNER banners though!

30777 "Sir Lamiel" climbs through Langcliffe with "The Dalesman" from Hellifield to Carlisle on Sunday. 27th August 2006. It sounded awesome, but unfortunately the sun illuminated the background and not the train, which is typical for the S & C.

45407 crosses Horsfall Viaduct, east of Todmorden with 5Z22 12.19 Hebden Bridge to Castleton on the 9th June 2007. This was the ECS of an excursion that originated at Liverpool Lime Street and it had just decanted it's passengers in Hebden Bridge.

Having waited some 25 years to capture a steam hauled train crossing Gauxholme Viaduct at the right time of day, when the moment finally arrived the sun didn't play ball! However 45407 still makes a fine sight as it crosses the Rochdale Canal, west of Todmorden, with 1Z23 16.19 Hebden Bridge to Liverpool Lime Street excursion. 9th June 2007.
